Share some tips for a budget.
The cost of dining chairs can quickly increase due to the number of chairs you need to purchase to completely spruce up your space.
To help my parents decorate their dining room, I searched online for modern dining chairs that don’t break the bank (and look great)!
All of the dining chairs listed cost less than $100 per chair but have a beautifully modern look that will look great in any home.
Here are nine inexpensive dining chairs under $100.
Mid-Century Modern Faux Leather Amazon Dining Chair
This brown faux leather dining chair was our top pick because of its low price for a set of four and its modern look.
We bought this exact set for my parents’ dining room.
Assembly was very quick and easy with no problems.
The color of the faux leather makes the dining room very warm and easy to clean.
Note: The dining chair legs are actually metal but are painted to look like wood.
Highly recommend it if you are on a tight budget.
If you’re interested, I’ve shared a close-up at the end of this blog post.
Black faux leather dining chair
With its clean, modern look, this chair was our second choice for the dining room.
We love the all-black color scheme for a beautiful minimalist look.
Amazon has plenty of customer reviews and photos to help you with your research.
Also available in gray color option.
Amazon.co.uk Mid Century Modern Gray Dining Chairs
This set of mid-century modern dining chairs is extremely inexpensive, making it one of the cheapest on this list.
Its small footprint makes it a space saver if you have a small dining room.
Amazon.co.uk Ball & Cast Beige Dining Chair
These chairs from Amazon are one of my favorites on this list and are way cheaper than the West Elm chairs ($300+ each)! If you are looking for a more neutral dining room look, also available in ivory color.
Target Mid-Century Modern Project 62 Dining Chair
I love the unique mixed material look of this wood and metal dining chair from Target! Dark brown, beige, and light gray leatherettes are my favorites!
Wayfair Fondren Accent Chair
I love the combination of beige upholstery and gold legs! This dining chair has great reviews on Wayfair and many helpful photo examples from our customers.
Christopher Knight Dining Chair
This dining chair looks a lot more expensive than it actually is.
I love the combination of the curved back detail and the light beige fabric with a walnut finish.
Walmart Duhome Velvet Dining Chair
If you’re looking for a soft velour dining chair option, this is a great choice! The seat and back are padded and come in a variety of colors, but if you go a neutral route, khaki or gray. Stick with it.
Wayfair Schatzer White Side Chair
This is a highly rated dining chair set from Wayfair with over 3000 reviews and is available in a variety of colors, including taupe, gray, black and brown.
White chairs easily complement the interior of the dining room.
dining chair buying advice
Please pay attention to the height of the dining chair seat surface.
In fact, seat height varies widely, so you need to make sure you choose a comfortable height chair for your dining table.
To determine this, subtract 12 inches from your table height (for example, most dining tables are 30 inches high, so an appropriate seat height would be 30-12 = 18 inches).
If you’re considering dining chairs with armrests, make sure the armrests aren’t too high to bring the chair closer to the table.
I made this mistake about 15 years ago.
Consider pairing your dining chairs with chairs for accent chairs and another style for end chairs.
Eclectic combinations give it a more upscale look.
If you have a premium end chair, you can save a lot of money on a side chair.
We spent more money on two substantial wingback end chairs to improve the look of the space.
Evolution of the dining room
Where is the current dining room? We didn’t bring the dining room furniture from Connecticut (the table was too long for the new space, and even without the extensions, the sideboard and sideboard were built in).
Completely from scratch.
It took me a while to set up this space (we’ve been home for almost a year!) We were going to be a “forever” room, and we wanted to set aside space for those purchases.
So we made some big purchases.
I go out a bit.
As for the lighting, I splurged on {this beautiful beaded chandelier} which I was lucky enough to get before the price increased dramatically, but it was still an investment.
Obviously, we are always in need of dining room art, accessories, and chairs (which is what prompted me to write this article in the first place.
I have seen all the dining room chairs eat in a search, I think).
I’m trying to choose an end chair first, but my favorites so far are {this upholstered chair} and {this set of two wingback chairs}.
Once I’ve decided on these, I’d like to choose a cheap side chair! I’ll let you know and share more of my picks as this space takes shape!
We hope these tips and choosing your favorite chair help anyone looking for a new dining chair on a budget!
